Coming Soon: An Open Access Book Emerging from the CAPHE Project

The Communities and Artistic Participation in Hybrid Environments consortium is delighted to announce the forthcoming publication of New Coordinates for Creative Hybrid Space-Experiences, a peer-reviewed Open Access volume representing one of the project’s major collaborative achievements.

The book will be published by Palgrave Macmillan, part of Springer Nature, in the prestigious Humanity and Its Successors series edited by Professor Steve Fuller. Both an Open Access digital edition and a printed edition will be released, with publication expected before the official completion of the CAPHE project.

The origins of the volume date back to the international symposium “New Coordinates for Creative Hybrid Space-Experiences”, held at Kenyatta University (Nairobi, Kenya) on 16–17 February 2023. Bringing together researchers from different institutions and countries, the symposium became the starting point for an intensive international collaboration that has continued throughout the CAPHE project.

Over the following years, authors, editors and reviewers worked together to transform the ideas initiated in Nairobi into a coherent interdisciplinary publication. Developed in close cooperation with Palgrave Macmillan / Springer Nature, the volume reflects the project’s commitment to excellence in research, international collaboration and open scientific communication.

The publication brings together contributions exploring contemporary questions at the intersection of aesthetics, culture, technology and hybrid environments. More importantly, it demonstrates the long-term impact of CAPHE by showing how collaborations initiated through the project continue to generate new research, publications and international partnerships.

The CAPHE consortium is particularly pleased that the book will be available in Open Access, ensuring unrestricted access for readers around the world and supporting the project’s commitment to making research widely accessible.

We warmly thank all contributing authors, editors, reviewers and the editorial team at Palgrave Macmillan / Springer Nature for their dedication, professionalism and invaluable collaboration throughout this extensive editorial process.

We look forward to announcing the official publication very soon and to sharing this important collective achievement with the international research community.
