Co-Coordinator

Co-Founder of Narratologies, with a background encompassing computer science, architecture and cultural theory. With a focus on designing and implementing gamified hybrid environments, she is conducting research through CAPHE to create immersive experiences that bridge the digital and physical realms, effectively conveying cultural narratives. Through the creation of the award-winning technology startup Narratologies, she has collaborated with cultural and commercial organizations in the tourism and cultural entertainment sector, which led to her distinction in the “Forbes 30 under 30” list for 2021. She also has many years of professional experience in the field of software architecture & development, game design and creative technology, having implemented projects for important organizations such as digital interactive installations at the Greek National Opera. In addition to her professional career, she has been involved in ancillary teaching roles in the field of Human – Computer Interaction at the School of Informatics and Telecommunications of NKUA and in the field of Architectural Design and Theory at the Architecture School of National Technical University of Athens. She holds a Diploma in Architectural Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (valedictorian), a MSc in Computer Science from NKUA and an MRes in Design-Space-Culture from NTUA. Moreover, she participates in domestic and international scientific conferences and exhibitions claiming awards as well as significant participations in European research programs.

She holds a Diploma in Architectural Engineering from the Architecture School of National Technical University of Athens and an MRes in Design-Space-Culture also from NTUA. She has also received various distinctions for her theoretical research papers like the Thomaidis Award for publications in scientific journals and conferences and she continues to participate in domestic and international exhibitions claiming also industry related awards as well as significant participations in European research programs.

Researcher

Maria, always captivated by alternative forms of storytelling, pursued her passion for the History of Design and Material Culture at the University of Brighton. She holds a BA in Theory and History of Art from the Athens School of Fine Arts. Maria’s diverse interests span subjects as varied as art in the urban landscape, craft, museums, exhibitions, and national identities, often intertwining them all into her writing. As an active member of Narratologies, Maria engages in the creation of content in various mediums, allowing her to merge her interests with tangible methods of knowledge dissemination. Her involvement in this organization has deepened her understanding of alternative forms of learning, which seamlessly blend the digital and somatic realms. Maria’s experiences extend beyond academia, as she has contributed to museums and cultural institutions in Germany and Greece, including Gerhard-Marcks Haus in Bremen and the Athens City Museum. Through her work and volunteer efforts, Maria seeks to contribute to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.
