The Narratologies team presented “Embracing Gaia: Hybrid Pedagogies for Media and Ecological Literacy in XR”, with Natasha Papathoma, Aliki Iovita and Kinya Marangu.

The presentation explored how digital and physical worlds can merge through XR and gamified tours, creating new ways to approach ecological and material literacy across different age groups.

Exploring Hybridity

The session also brought together related research from CAPHE partners, including “Gaia’s Echo: Hybrid Methodologies in Immersive & Serious Leisure Research” by Kuba Petri, Monika Krakowska and Magdalena Zych from Jagiellonian University, and “Hybridity in Theory and Practice” by Mutuma Marangu of TMMSAC.

The Lisbon conference created a space for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas around hybrid environments, immersive experiences and new approaches to learning.

For CAPHE, it was another opportunity to connect practical experimentation, research and collaboration across the project partners.
