Researchers from Miastopracownia (Dominika Janicka, Barbara Nawrocka, Dominika Wilczyńska) visited the Bartlett Summer Show, one of the most influential showcases of student work in Europe, to explore how emerging architects are redefining the discipline. Below is a selection of projects that particularly resonated with our research interests.
During the visit, the team connected especially with the authors of three works–Karolina Adamiec, Yuxin Hu, and Clara Varela Cuartero–whose projects addressed questions of gender, spatial justice, and, in several cases, the use of VR as a tool to prototype, test, or narrate new forms of inclusive space. Their approaches demonstrated how immersive media can support feminist architectural thinking by visualising alternative futures, amplifying overlooked perspectives, and challenging established spatial norms.
