From June to August 2023, a series of engaging online workshops titled “VR Art Music” took place. This initiative was the result of a collaborative effort between Conservatorio Puccini, Opera Network, and FBAUL-Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa. The sessions occurred on June 15, July 10, 14, 15, 19, 21, 25, August 21, 23, 26, and 28.
The primary aim of these workshops was to explore the intersection of technology, music, and art in a hybrid environment. This collaboration involved prestigious institutions such as Conservatorio Marcello Venezia, Liceo Musicale Marchesi Padova, Liceo Artistico Musicale Cardarelli La Spezia, and Liceo Artistico Musicale Palma Massa, fostering a unique experience for art and music students and professors.
The sessions focused on the amalgamation of virtual reality, art, and music, providing participants with the opportunity to explore new creative horizons and learn how these disciplines can merge in a virtual setting. The workshops delved into themes such as the hybrid environment, the synergy between technology and artistic expression, and the influence of virtual reality on musical perception.
Participants had the chance to interact with industry experts, including educators from the involved institutions and professionals in the digital arts field. These workshops aimed to provide an unprecedented educational and creative experience, stimulating participants’ minds and encouraging them to explore new frontiers in the realms of art, music, and technology.
In conclusion, the VR Art Music Online Workshops represented an extraordinary opportunity for interaction and collaboration among students and professors from internationally-renowned institutions. This initiative played a preparatory role for the secondments of the CAPHE Project in Greece, fostering cultural and artistic growth through the innovative fusion of technology, music, and art.
